about

In 2009, Lebanese experimental musicians Sharif Sehnaoui, Mazen Kerbaj and Charbel Haber decided to join forces and launch a sub-label of "Al-Maslakh" called "Johnny Kafta's Kids Menu". The idea behind this label was to meld the experimental spirit of Sehnaoui and Kerbaj's releases, with the free rock tendencies of Haber's various projects.
Thus the "Johnny Kafta" character was born, a Lebanese butcher from Texas using al-Maslakh's infamous cleaver to slice up his shawarma. JKKM released 3 albums between 2009 and 2011, before coming to a definitive halt in 2015. The label's 3 sole releases are still available in limited quantities.
